Maranatha Community School is the only source of
education for children in Ada, a fishing village in one of the poorest regions
of Ghana.
Children have traditionally been taught in bamboo
classroom structures which don't provide much shelter from the elemets, and
these have recently been damaged in a storm making the need for a replacement
very urgent.
Volunteers from the MAD (Make A Difference) Foundation
have been working hard over the past six months to build new classrooms which
can provide proper shelter for local kids as they learn about Maths, English,
Science, Citizenship and local Language Dangbe.
This building work is now nearly complete, and the
school just requires one crucial element. A roof!
We would like to crowdsource the funds to put a roof
on one of seven new classrooms so that local children can start to use these
new permanent structures. If successful, this work will be completed in July.
The School Building Project is being managed by the UK Registered Charity the
MAD (Make A Difference) Foundation - Reg No 1111805 - and all funds raised
through this platform will all go towards the remaining building materials
needed to complete this Project. For more information about the MAD Foundation
